About the project

The Canton of Zurich is modernising the Campus Technikum of the ZHAW School of Engineering in Winterthur and partly rebuilding it — a credit of CHF 308.6 million, realised in several construction stages. The first stage creates two new five-storey laboratory buildings behind the historic Technikum, plus a campus park with access to the water and bridges over the Eulach. The larger new building holds laboratories, workshops, practical rooms and a large workshop complex as well as a mensa and cafeteria with a terrace; the scope also includes a new underground car park, the redesign of the watercourse and the demolition of four existing buildings. Both new buildings are to be certified to Minergie-P-Eco, with DGNB Switzerland under review, and the large laboratory roof carries photovoltaics. The smaller laboratory building goes into service in September 2027, the large one in September 2030.

The right setup for a project like this
A campus with laboratory buildings, park and bridges, staged over several years: long-term timelapse, public progress views and an archive for auditors — this is how we would equip a project of this kind:
Sector:Public Sector
The result
A campus rebuilt in stages over several years, in operation throughout — the case for one continuous archive rather than a folder of site photos.
